You didn’t put the window units in your sketch.

Big improvement!

Love it, but let's get a nice porch to the left of those stairs!

Nice, but where are the hand rails?

Looks pretty nice, at least with the limited room available. The living room (I assume), seems like it would be quite nice.
I’ve got some friends who live in a house with a similar external layout to the after, maybe I should encourage them to steal some details:

i would love for them to do that but we need to see how we sit with the budget.

oops.... (existing to remain)

Hmm, I think option two looks better from the outside, though you lose those nice tall windows. I’m mildl y bothered that the second floor windows on the sides aren’t centered on the non-chimney side.

yea, the second floor windows are something i want to work on. you do lose the taller windows but that dormer in the front is over that room

BlueOption2

Option two dumps water directly into the front yard onto the existing bushes. They will either need gutters or drainage improvements next to the foundation in the front yard.

Personally I think it needs more ‘castle’ in the design

Needs more turrets to pour burning oil on the upcoming zombie hoards.

I need a closer view of existing siding. Looks suspect....

I like option B better, because it looks like the house could have been built that way originally.

If it was west coast, option one, but since it’s Mass, option 2 will probably blend in better with the neighborhood. Plus I think the existing
driveway side configuration
fits better with #2.
Taller roofline (maybe an illusion) with option two will probably make upstairs more pleasant, though might be a bit more in terms of costs.

Personally, I'd say option two, at least from the exterior. More in scale with the existing house.

I like 2 better. Cleaner look.

Front s teps seem to o narrow. But other than that, I really like all the options.
Are you going central air to get rid of the window unit?
![]() 08/22/2019 at 09:36 |

front steps are there already so for what it would cost to expand them being brick probably wont fit into the budget. Same with central air. all up to budget and what the client wants.

yea, i think either design would get gutters and downspouts. I like the hanging half round gutters and those would work well here but also cost more.

yea... probably wouldn;t fit into the neighborhood too well

Well clearly you need to make it your mission to turn the neighbourhood into a Kingdom!!!!
